What to Expect from Us
Here at CQ Outfitters we recognize we are only as good as our guides, and through the years we have gathered some of the most experienced and capable in the industry. After many years, we understand that the best guides are also the best communicators. Our guides strive to involve you in all aspects of the hunt; from horsemanship, history of the land, playing the wind, and planning the final stalk. Our guides will do everything in their power to provide an unforgettable experience as they prepare the hunters on the terrain, the game, and hunting plan, as they are a wealth of knowledge. Here at CQO, we whole hardly believe that the best hunts are not always the ones that end with the largest trophy, however, the hunt on a scenic mountain side, in terrible weather, on terrain you didn’t know a human could climb, let alone a horse, with both new and old friends are the ones that make the memories which last a lifetime.
From a day-to-day standpoint:
All hunters will arrive at the WYO Wild Horse Ranch the day before your hunt. Here you will meet your guides and site in your rifles on our private 1,000-yard range. From there, will have diner at our luxury lodge and discuss plans for the week ahead.
The next morning, we will have breakfast in the lodge and mount our horses and mules to head in. Our ride is every bit of 7.5 hours and 26 miles. Once we arrive in camp, you can expect to be sleeping on padded cots in wall tents with stoves. Hot meals will be served in our dinning tent each morning and evening with a packed lunch in the field. Each day of hunting, you can expect to be on horseback a minimum of 3-4 hours with a few miles of walking. After the hunt, we will ride back to the ranch where will again have diner and spend the night. The final morning, we will have breakfast, load your gear, and you will be on your way.
